Reasoning about Constants in Nominal Isabelle or How to Formalize the Second Fixed Point Theorem

چکیده
Nominal Isabelle is a framework for reasoning about programming languages with named bound variables (as opposed to de Bruijn indices). It is a definitional extension of the HOL object logic of the Isabelle theorem prover. Nominal Isabelle supports the definition of term languages of calculi with bindings, functions on the terms of these calculi and provides mechanisms that automatically rename binders. Functions defined in Nominal Isabelle can be defined with assumptions: The binders can be assumed fresh for any arguments of the functions. Defining functions is often one of the more complicated part of reasoning with Nominal Isabelle, and together with analysing freshness is the part that differs most from paper proofs. In this paper we show how to define terms from λ-calculus and reason about them without having to carry around the freshness conditions. As a case study we formalize the second fixed point theorem of the λ-calculus.

Locales - A Sectioning Concept for Isabelle
Locales are a means to define local scopes for the interactive proving process of the theorem prover Isabelle. They delimit a range in which fixed assumption are made, and theorems are proved that depend on these assumptions. A locale may also contain constants defined locally and associated with pretty printing syntax. Locales can be seen as a simple form of modules. They are similar to sectio...
متن کاملThesis Proposal (Draft)
The goal of my thesis project is to create a framework for encoding and reasoning about functional languages in the Isabelle theorem prover. The framework will encode languages using deep embeddings, with higher-order abstract syntax. The motivating test case is the GHCCore language—an explicitly-typed, desugared variant of Haskell which is used as an intermediate language by the Glasgow Haskel...
متن کاملGeneral Bindings and Alpha-Equivalence in Nominal Isabelle
Nominal Isabelle is a definitional extension of the Isabelle/HOL theorem prover. It provides a proving infrastructure for reasoning about programming language calculi involving named bound variables (as opposed to de-Bruijn indices). In this paper we present an extension of Nominal Isabelle for dealing with general bindings, that means term-constructors where multiple variables are bound at onc...
متن کاملA new characterization for Meir-Keeler condensing operators and its applications
Darbo's fixed point theorem and its generalizations play a crucial role in the existence of solutions in integral equations. Meir-Keeler condensing operators is a generalization of Darbo's fixed point theorem and most of other generalizations are a special case of this result. In recent years, some authors applied these generalizations to solve several special integral equations and some of the...
متن کاملHigher-Order Separation Logic in Isabelle/HOLCF
We formalize higher-order separation logic for a first-order imperative language with procedures and local variables in Isabelle/HOLCF. The assertion language is modeled in such a way that one may use any theory defined in Isabelle/HOLCF to construct assertions, e.g., primitive recursion, least or greatest fixed points etc. The higher-order logic ensures that we can show non-trivial algorithms ...
